Boric congratulates Kast on his victory: “I will always be available to collaborate for the country”
President Gabriel Boric has called the newly elected president José Antonio Kast, in a traditional ceremony between the outgoing president and the one who will enter to lead the next Administration. The communication, which was broadcast on television, has shown both in a cordial dialogue. “I want you to know that as President of the Republic I will always be available to collaborate for the country,” said Boric. The current ruler has also warned his successor of the personal impact of occupying the seat of La Moneda. “At some point you will know what the loneliness of power means, where you will have to make very important decisions,” he said.
Kast thanked Boric for his willingness to collaborate with the transfer of command, which will take place on March 11, 2026. “Let it be a very orderly, respectful transition and I would be very interested in having his opinions, his perspective and his vision for the country after March 11,” he said. The Republican has said that his wife, Pía Adriasola, will accompany him at the meeting with Boric this Monday at the La Moneda palace.
