The authorities accused the politician of making an illegal intrusion in the center
Ras Baraka, Newark Democratic Mayor, New Jersey, was arrested this Friday after refusing to leave a Federal Immigrant Detention Center during a protest. The politician is a candidate for the Democratic nomination as governor in the primaries next month.
Alina Habba, ex -abogated by President Donald Trump and current interim federal prosecutor, said that Mayor Ras Baraka “committed illegal intrusion and ignored multiple warnings” of leaving a detention center administered by the United States immigration and customs control service in Newark. A spokesman for the National Security Department accused protesters of breaking into the facilities when a bus arrived with detainees.
“The emergence of these members of the Congress in a detention center goes beyond a strange political maneuver and puts at risk the security of our police officers and the detainees,” said the spokesman in a statement.
