The City Council of Xàbia (Alicante) has ordered the preventive decontamination of the sailboat that remains enchanted since July 24 in a rocky area of the municipality by the storm of rain and storm recorded that day, in order to prevent possible spills and thus protect the coast. The Consistory indicated on Tuesday in a statement that, “after more than fifteen days without the owner of the wrapped sailboat, performing any action of discontamination or withdrawal of the vessel, and as a preventive measure to avoid possible spills of polluting fluids to the sea, the Mayor’s Office and the Department of Citizen Security have ordered the execution of cleaning and extraction of dangerous materials.” The expenses caused will be claimed to the owner, they explain from the Consistory.
