Podemos Andalucía is not pressed by the United Left to decide before the summer if he maintains his will to continue in the Andalusian coalition, with a view to the regional elections provided in June 2026. IU, the party that directs the Andalusian Antonio Maíllo throughout the state, and in Andalusia, Toni Valero, has sent to the coaligates a document in which he bets on the electoral candidacies and, in case that is not possible, celebrate primary with a unique and new census in which the militants of each training and all the people who wish to participate would be registered individually. They want that before the summer it is clear whether or not they go and avoid last minute pacts.
“We have no willingness to break, today we bet on continuity,” says the Coportovoz de Podemos Andalucía, José Manuel Gómez Jurado, who speaks in the name of the regional direction. This parliamentarian defends that unknowns must be cleared “as soon as possible, but without hurry.” It emphasizes that right now IU and Podemos are closing their “autonomic assemblies in the case of IU, in which there are two candidates – and provincial, so the election of local addresses until the end of June is the priority.
“There is no novelty, neither for good nor bad. Here we are not talking about building anything, but of whether there is what there is, and right now we bet on continuity (of the coalition) and the conditions will be defined,” says the co -man of Podemos. In the opinion of Gómez Jurado, who is a deputy in the Andalusian Parliament for Córdoba, “right now” the state direction “is not conditioning anything” nor have they received any message against the favor of preserving by Andalusia, a group in which Podemos, IU and Sumar Movement, the party created by Vice President Yolanda Díaz to attend the last generals, in addition to three other minor formations, Initiative of the Andalusian people and Alianza Verde).
But the problem is not in Andalusia, several sources of the coalition coincide, but in Madrid. From the executive directed by Ione Belarra they point in the opposite direction. His spokesman, Pablo Fernández, has thrown the brake on a possible reissue of the pact. Since the rupture of Podemos with the Summar Coalition in Congress in December 2023, the party develops an increasingly harsh executive strategy that suggests many difficulties to reach an agreement with formations present in the current Council of Ministers. “We are immersed in the political task of organizing the forces of peace, to which this government of the war opposes, this government of the rearma already complicates with the genocide of Israel in Palestine. If we are able to articulate that social and political force of peace, which opposes this government of the war, the alliances will fall by their own weight,” said Fernández, contrary to the Executive.
The weight of state decisions has been decisive in the future of Podemos in Andalusia since it was created, when it was chosen coordinator Teresa Rodríguez, very contrary to the entry of Podemos in the PSOE government led by Pedro Sánchez. The Cadiz activist ended up outside the party and leading forward Andalusia, an Andalusian left -wing formation that has two deputies in the regional Parliament.
“The Andalusian leaders of the coalition want unity, the difficulty is in Madrid. It is a little crazy. The situation here is stabilized and the only territory where things are going well is Andalusia. What is then the problem?” Asks a leader of the confluence.
The reasons that Fernández, also secretary of Organization of Podemos, has wielded on Monday, to “organize the forces that oppose the Government of War” “that is part of PSOE, IU, Sumar Movement, more Madrid and common -, do not marry the Andalusian reality, where the objective that the left is marked is to avoid a new absolute majority of the PP of Juan Manuel Moreno.
By Andalusia it is the only training that has not yet clear its way. He has not decided whether they are going to attend together again or who will be his candidate, while the parties of the other four parliamentary groups already know not only what his ballot will be called, but also who his leaders will be in the next elections: Juan Manuel Moreno (PP), María Jesús Montero (PSOE), Manuel Gavira (Vox) and Juan Ignacio García (ahead). The latter also advanced weeks ago, if the case came, would support the socialist’s investiture, but without entering the government.
What in Podemos Andalucía understands as “the has a hurry” of IU has a real and relatively recent basis. In the Autonomic of 2022, the parties of Por Andalucía were late for the Coalition Registry, so that the three deputies of Podemos appear as independent. If they are separately in the next elections, they will not have electoral advances, nor guaranteed presence in the debates in the public media.
Silence on the IU proposal for the moment. Although his spokesman, the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, dodged the question on Monday by pointing out that it must be the party in Andalusia who is pronounced, did recalcled the “unitary will” of his formation. “The 23-J model was a successful model and is the one we must defend,” he added. In that case there were no primaries, but very complex negotiations between parties that ended in the agreement of more than one fortnight of formations that achieved 31 deputies in Congress.
