Two immigrants died Wednesday in a shooting at an office of the Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE) located in Dallas, Texas, the Department of National Security has confirmed. The deceased were within the installation of the immigration agency when a sniper opened fire against the place. Another detainee immigrant was injured and is in critical condition. The alleged shooter died from a self -inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Dallas Police Department. No federal agent received shots.
So far, the identity of the victims or the injured person has not been confirmed. Nor have details been offered from the shooter. The authorities and the Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, have said that the reason for the shooting is being investigated, but the official said that the event occurs in the midst of an increase in attacks against ICE agents, which comply with the mass deportation agenda of President Donald Trump.
During a press conference a few hours after the event, the local authorities confirmed that no agent of the order was injured during the shooting. The special agent in charge of the FBI in Dallas, Joe Rothrock, explained that they have begun a “continuous investigation” in which “several federal partners and local partners participate, to ensure that any responsible person gives accounts.” He added that the FBI investigates the fact as an “act of selective violence”, and that “the bullets found near the alleged shooter contain messages of an anti-uter nature.” The mayor of the city, Eric Johnson, requested “calm” and “patience” to the population while the investigation shows results.
The shooting occurred around 7 am central time in the United States, and caused a wide police deployment in the area. According to the Dallas Police Department, the attacker opened fire from the roof of a nearby building. According to the interim director of the ICE, Todd Lyons, “the victims were in the area of ’Sally Port”, Where are the immigrants arrested.
The shooting took place in the local ICE office in Dallas. This installation is not a detention center, but it is usually used to process the cases of the detainees after their arrest and before their transfer to a prison for migrants. Immigrants who go through this building are usually in place 24 hours.
President Trump has not spoken about the event. The American vice president, JD Vance, has written in X: “The obsessive attack against forces of order, particularly against ICE, must end. I am praying for all the injured in this attack and for their families.” For his part, the Governor of Texas, Republican Greg Abbott, an ally of the president, has published in the same social network: “Texas fully supports ICE. Both the Department of Public Security of Texas and the Texas National Guard closely collaborate with ICE. This murder will not stop our arrest work, detention and deportation of illegal immigrants”.

So far this year, ICE facilities or the Customs Office and Border Protection (CBP) in the state of Texas have been shot at least three times. On July 4, US Independence Day, several shooters opened fire against a detention center for immigrants in Alvarado, southwest of Dallas. A police officer was injured with a shot in the neck. Three days later, a man armed with an assault rifle shot dozens of rounds against federal agents that came out of a border patrol installation in McAllen. The man wounded a police officer who responded to the scene before the authorities shot him and killed him.
And on August 25, the authorities arrested a 36 -year -old American who threatened to put a bomb in the same ICE installation in Dallas that was attacked on Wednesday. According to the Department of National Security, the man attended the office and claimed to have an explosive artifact in his backpack. In addition, he showed an agent what he said was a “detonator” on his wrist. The man was arrested and charges for terrorist threats were charged.
