Bolaños details that only one judge and 28 prosecutors communicated their participation in the strike to discount their salary | Spain

The Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, headed by Félix Bolaños, has issued a press release on Thursday to inform that 29 people (1 judge and 28 prosecutors) “have officially communicated” today their participation in the strike of early July against legal reforms in matters of justice promoted by the Government. Therefore, according to the Executive, only the “corresponding deduction” will be made in their salaries this month. Convening associations encrypted the average monitoring of unemployment in 70%.

After disseminating this information, the convening associations have responded with a counter -communicated and have charged all the responsibility over the Ministry: “Justice has not detracted the assets corresponding to the days not worked, despite having the legal obligation to do so in their quality of employer/paying. The strike workers cannot detract the salary themselves and, of course, it is not the obligation of the strikers to ask them to ask them to be made.

The tension with the ministry continues almost a month after the strike promoted by five associations of judges and prosecutors (mostly, of conservative cut), which was held between July 1 and 3. During the protest there was a war of figures between the conveners and Bolaños, who also insisted on several appearances that the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) had concluded that the strike had no legal basis. He also charged against the lack of communication to be able to discount the proportional part of the salaries: “I respect the mobilizations, the strikes, the right to strike of judges and prosecutors in our country. But I do tell him that the right to strike entails a duty, which is the obligation to not charge that work day. To not charge you have to communicate to the payer. Justice emphasizes that the communication of those who joined the strike was “essential” to “ensure the good use of public funds”, “since the Ministry is the paying body of their payrolls and, consequently, who has to practice the corresponding detraction of beans.”

“On July 31, the CGPJ has reported that it had not received any notification of judges and magistrates who had made unemployment, the FGE has confirmed the participation of 28 people and the ministry, through the territorial management, has received the information of two people,” delves the press release, which also takes advantage of defending the legal reforms in matters of justice promoted by the Government.

After the protests at the beginning of the month, the conveners cataloged the monitoring of unemployment as a “resounding success” and encrypted the average follow -up in 70%(75%, day 1; 70%, on day 2; and 65%, on day 3). However, Justice reduced that data to an average of 31.04% (28.75% on the first day; 30.84% the second and 33.55% the third). The CGPJ and the State Attorney General did not provide data after ensuring that they had no powers.
