The Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico has confirmed the arrest, this Thursday, of Cristopher N, alias The Commanderas the alleged intellectual author of the murder of B-King and Regio Clown, as indicated to EL PAÍS. According to the investigation, the Public Ministry links the death of both with a criminal environment of distribution and marketing of narcotics, particularly those known as tusi (two cee bee in English, pronounced tusibi) and Coco Channel. Likewise, as detailed in the statement, the investigations allow this activity to be related to other crimes such as “drop by drop” extortion, deprivation of liberty and kidnapping. Due to these events, 16 people have been arrested, 10 of them of foreign origin (Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba and Spain), for their intervention, either as authors or participants in one or more of these crimes.
The Colombian musicians were reported missing on September 16 and six days later the authorities reported that the identities of the musicians corresponded to two dismembered bodies found on September 17 in Cocotitlán, near the border between the State of Mexico and the Mexican capital. The investigation confirms that the double homicide of the artists is related to retaliation for a debt owed by one of them to a criminal group and his personal relationship with a subject identified as El Pantera.
Since last September 11, when B-King and his manager arrived in Mexico City from Medellín, Colombia, on instructions from Cristopher N, Mariano N was assigned as “driver and assistant” for the victims, which is why he was instructed to go to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) aboard a red Ford Expedition truck, to receive Bayron Sánchez (B-King).
From that date, El Comandante, “taking advantage of the trust” that Jorge Luis Huertas (Regio Clown) had in him, managed to make him believe that they would establish business together, after agreeing with El Pantera and another subject known as El Apá. On September 16, Cristopher N ordered through a phone call to Mariano N, “on instructions from Apá,” to go to Plaza Miyana, in the Polanco mayor’s office, for the Colombians and take them to the Renovación neighborhood, located in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office.
Due to the above, it is presumed that El Comandante deceived the victims, since in reality he knew that they would be transferred to a place where they would be deprived of their lives by orders of El Pantera, who for this would have made a payment of 200,000 pesos. A witness indicated that the victims were murdered at Apá’s home, located in Mexico City. The document indicates that this subject is the owner of a recycling workshop located in the Renovación neighborhood, in Iztapalapa, where plastic and raffia bags similar to those that contained the human remains at the place of discovery are used.
To transport the remains, a truck with the same characteristics as the red Ford Expedition that Mariano used on September 11 to receive B-King at the AIFA was used and, according to instructions, it was abandoned in the State of Mexico with a message that was intended to divert the investigations, according to the witness.
He also stated that El Pantera threatened El Comandante, Apá, Mariano N and the rest of those who intervened in the events, telling them: “The first one who goes to jail and says something, I will send him to death. I don’t want to see you in Mexico City or in the State (of Mexico) until December.” The above, according to the Public Ministry, presupposes a prior agreement between El Pantera, Cristopher N, El Apá, Mariano N and others, to deprive the victims of their lives mainly due to El Pantera’s interest in “killing” Regio Clown, because he would have disclosed data about his identity and because he distributed drugs at the “Uncensored” events without his authorization.
The joint analysis of the evidence allows the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office to infer that The Commander had control over essential aspects of the execution, by coordinating and directing the phase of attracting the victims through deception and manipulation of their trust to ensure the result planned by the group.
“Uncensored”
The investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico establishes that the party at which they performed on September 14, called “Independence Day. Without Censorship”, was the epicenter of this case. The event, organized by Regio Clown and his best friend Rogelio Mastracci, was a showcase to market narcotics tusi and Coco Channel.
He tusi (two cee bee in English, pronounced tusibi) or also the misnamed pink cocaine—its components and effects have nothing in common with those of that substance—is a mixture of ketamine, some stimulant (generally caffeine and MDMA) and sweeteners that give it its distinctive tone.
The names of El Comandante and Mariano appeared in the investigations from the first moment. One of the first leaked evidence was a screenshot of a conversation between Regio Clown and his partner. It said that the DJ had to meet on September 16 with “Mariano” and “El Comandante.” Regio Clown added that “he doesn’t trust anyone,” but “you have to do business.”
The last clue we had about the case was following the trail of Mariano, who was close to the artists and their inner circle from the first day and who is accused of having taken them in the Mercedes Benz to the place where they were murdered. According to extrajudicial sources, the authorities have been close to capturing him.
Sources close to the case have stated that Mariano N has ties to the Unión Tepito and that he was arrested last May by the capital police for shooting a merchant, who was injured, in the Vicente Guerrero Unit, in Iztapalapa. After a follow-up and operation by the Eastern Command and Control Centers, he was apprehended along with Víctor Manuel N., from whom drugs were confiscated. However, because the complaints for his imprisonment were not ratified, his process was stopped due to lack of evidence. Both were released.
Four other arrests for the double murder have been Angélica Irais N, Luis Alberto N, José Luis N and Jaime N, for allegedly providing the gray Mercedes in which the musicians traveled and inside which a straw with B-King’s DNA was found. Jaime N., 62, has reported having been the victim of a setup by the authorities of the State of Mexico, as he claims to have sold the car in May.
Ángel Carrera, Jaime N’s lawyer, explained that the car was first owned by a paint factory in the State of Puebla. The Mercedes Benz ended up with the Atlas insurance company after an accident. He has assured that his client has been dedicated to the purchase, repair and sale of damaged cars for more than 20 years. The lawyer has said that his client was given a motorcycle and cash for the transaction. The defender has assured this newspaper, via telephone, that Mariano N is not the one who bought the car from his client.
