These are the first seven Israeli hostages handed over by Hamas
Matan Angrest (22 years old). Golani brigade non-commissioned officer Matan Angrest is the other soldier in the group. He was captured near the Nahal Oz kibbutz. In a video from October 7, released by his family in June, you can see how a mob takes him, wounded and with his clothes torn, from a tank in which three other soldiers died. His family believes he has lost mobility in one hand.
Alon Ohel (24 years old). Alon Ohel is a piano virtuoso. He lived in Lavon, northern Israel, but on October 7, 2023, he was attending the Nova music festival. After managing to escape, he was captured along with three other young people in a bomb shelter where he had hidden. He suffered shrapnel injuries to his face and body, and is believed to have lost sight in one eye.
Eitan Abraham Mor (25 years old). He was captured at the Nova festival, where he was a security guard, although he normally worked in a bar in Jerusalem. He comes from a family of settlers in the Israeli settlement of Kyriat Arba, in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank. His father, Tzvika Mor, is the founder of the Forum of Hope – a group outside the entity that brings together the majority of hostages’ families – which opposes any agreement with Hamas.
Gali and Ziv Berman (28 years old). They are twins, both worked as music producers and have dual Israeli and German nationality. They were captured at the Kfar Aza kibbutz along with their friend Emily Damari. The woman, released in January, explained that the brothers were separated as soon as they arrived in Gaza and that, although sick, they were still alive.
Omri Miran (48 years old). He is the oldest hostage and the only one of the 20 who was captured at the Nahal Oz kibbutz. He worked as a masseuse and also has Hungarian nationality. In April 2024, he appeared with a long beard in a Hamas video. Since then, his father has not shaved in solidarity with his son. Last April, the Islamist militia released a second video of this hostage.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal (24 years old). He is Evyatar David’s best friend and was kidnapped with him. He appeared in a video released in September, in a car passing by buildings reduced to rubble. In another recording, in February, you can see how he and his friend David watch the release of other Israeli hostages on television. Guy Gilboa-Dalal is a computer scientist.
