Seven prisoners remain fugitives until the afternoon of this Sunday
Seven of the ten inmates who escaped this Friday from a prison in New Orleans were still fugitive until Sunday afternoon. The prisoners, some with homicide charges, left the building taking advantage of a hole behind an excused in one of the cells.
The city has offered a reward of $ 12,000 for information that leads to the arrest of prisoners that remain free. The prison authorities have suggested that the escape could have been carried out with the help of prison personnel and that at least one employee witnessed the evasion and did not report it.
The absence of the 10 men went unnoticed for hours. It was not until a morning routine count, more than seven hours after men flee from the facilities, which the forces of the order learned of the escape. Shortly after alerting the incident, one of the fugitives, Kendall Myles, 20, was arrested after a brief persecution on foot in the French neighborhood. Previously, he had escaped twice from youth detention centers.
