Throughout the Eurovision final the public can vote in their favorites. They will be received up to about 40 minutes after the last song and suppose half of the total score. Of course, voting has cost and it cannot be done by the representative of the country where one is.
At the end of the gala, the entire televoto received by each candidacy is added and the presenters are announcing them starting with those who received the least votes from the professional jury. Thus you can use the televoto depending on which country the Eurofan is:
How to vote from Spain
These are the ways to vote both from Spain and from the countries that participate in Eurovision:
- By app, web, SMS or call. Through the official app the festival and the website www.esc.vote. Through this last modality, they will be able to vote up to 20 times for their favorite country (up to 20 votes maximum per person, with a cost of 0.99 euros per vote), by phone or by SMS.
- Voting period. They will start when the first song is over and will be open up to approximately 40 minutes after the presentation of the last song.
- From Spain you can’t vote for Melody. “The rule is that the song that represents its own country cannot be voted, ensuring impartiality and fair competition,” explains the festival’s website. “To enforce this rule, we trust micropagos as a means to identify your country of origin, based on the country where your SIM or payment card was issued,” he adds.
Televoto outside Spain
To vote outside Spain and from a country that does not participate in Eurovision (a category called ‘Rest of the World’) can cast their votes from 00.00 on May 17 and account for as if they were a single country.
- For these, the voting form is through the official Eurisción app or on the website www.esc.vote (again, the cost is 0.99 euros each vote)
- These non -participating countries will be able to vote during the gala. The votes will open again just before the first performance and about 40 minutes after presenting the last song.
In 2024, according to the URU, votes were received from 156 countries and mainly arrived from the United States, Canada, Romania, Mexico, Arab Emirates, Turkey and South Africa.
How much public’s opinion is
The public’s opinion counts 50% of the total score. The other half corresponds to the assessment of the professional jury of each country, at that time when all Eurofans are pending the “Twelve Points”, the maximum they deliver.
The votes that distribute the spokesmen of each country are only those of the professional jury.
In the semifinals, however, only the public voted (also in countries that do not compete).
