The former president of the United States, Joe Biden, 82, suffers an aggressive prostate cancer with metastasis, as reported by his personal office through a statement. The diagnosis of Donald Trump’s predecessor disease in the White House occurs in a few days when the debate on the president’s mental acuity during his last stage in the position had jumped in the foreground.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was visited by a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” says the statement released by his office. “On Friday, prostate cancer was diagnosed, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (grade 5 group) with bone metastases. Although it is a more aggressive way of the disease, cancer seems to be sensitive to hormones, which allows effective treatment. The president and his family are studying the treatment options with their doctors,” he adds.
Biden is until now the oldest president in office, although Trump will surpass him in case of completing his current mandate. Biden’s last medical examination as president, held last year, described him as “an 81 -year -old man, active and robust”, “in a position to fulfill his duty and fully execute his responsibilities without exception,” according to his doctor.
Biden did suffer an obstructive sleep apnea, for which he sleeps almost every night with a machine that helps clear his airways. The doctor then attributed the clumsiness in the movements of the president, who had become more evident in recent months, to a “moderate to severe spondilosis”, which is, translated, a degeneration of the spinal discs, typical of age. It also suffers from peripheral neuropathy, a nerve condition, which causes pain and stiffness in the feet.
That version of which Biden was in a position to exercise the position had recently been questioned. In these days, the Trump government has disseminated the recording of the interrogation they carried out in the investigation for the classified roles found at home and in a personal office. In the recording he is perceived Dubitative and forgotten. That interrogation led the special prosecutor in charge of the case to describe him as “a nice old man well -intentioned with bad memory” in a 388 -page report. The prosecutor’s allusions, Rober Hur, at the age of Biden and his mental sharpness enraged the president and led the Republicans to ask for their incapacitation
At the time, the book Original without, of journalists Jake Tapper, star presenter of the CNN, and Alex Thompson, reporter of Axioshe points out that “the original sin” of the title was Biden’s decision to present himself to re -election, “followed by the aggressive efforts” of his environment “for hiding his cognitive deterioration.”
